1 star. Avoid. The assorted beef chow fun tasted only of soy sauce, and the garlic water spinach tasted only of cooking oil. The only decent dish was the braised meat platter. The seafood congee that Xiaohongshu hypes so much was burnt. Absolutely never going back.

Honestly their food is okay to eat compared to other Chinese restaurants in Dallas. At least the taste is more stable. Seafood porridge is always good. Oyster pancakes is always very salty. And service is always bad. Same bad as Houston Chinatown service. Their boss teach workers to show off to customers how busy they are, how many hours need to wait and how difficult to eat their food. I hope Dallas people can resist their arrogance together.

The food at this restaurant is generally pretty salty, and the overall taste is just average. The restaurant itself is also very small, so it feels quite crowded when you sit inside. However, the seafood congee is pretty good. One thing that made me uncomfortable was that when I was paying, the server stood there watching me use the payment screen.

I’ve been to the Houston location quite a few times, and when I heard that another location was opening up in Dallas, I wanted to go try it. My trip up to Dallas was over the weekend, so the line was super long (it was opening weekend). However, the food instantly made it worth it. I think the food is just as good as the Houston location, and I’m glad I spent a meal in Dallas with Jiu Fu Cafe. The congee was perhaps the best I’ve ever had, the braised tofu was exceptional, and the stir fried green beans were cooked perfectly. Service and atmosphere were on point, so I’d highly recommend this place to anyone in Dallas that’s looking for the best chinese food in the DFW area.
